Tourism Director elected to Regional Tourism Board of Directors
(GENESEO, NY - November 16, 2006) Cynthia Oswald,
president of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce has announced
that Lisa Burns, Livingston County Tourism Director has been elected
to the Board of Directors for the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance,
the 14 county tourism marketing collaborative for the Finger Lakes
Vacation Region of New York State.
"Lisa's
commitment to Livingston County Tourism, the Finger Lakes Region
and her understanding of the economic impact of the tourism industry
not only to our region but also New York State is invaluable.
She is a great resource and will work endlessly for the cause,"
notes Ms. Oswald.
The Finger
Lakes Tourism Alliance was founded in 1919 and is the oldest organization
of its kind in the United States. It is an association of private-sector
attractions, tourism-related businesses and county tourism offices
working together to enhance and promote visitor business for the
9,000-square-mile Finger Lakes region. Ms. Burns was elected to
this prestigious board by a majority vote of the other county
representatives within the region. It is the first time that Livingston
County's tourism director has served on this board.
Tourism Marketing
is an office of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce, producing
the county's official visitor's guide and a tourism website, www.FingerLakesWest.com
as well as developing and implementing all aspects of marketing
designed to bring visitors into the county.
