GENESEO, N.Y.-The
Livingston County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Office announces
the distribution of the 2011 "Official" Livingston County
Visitors Guide. The guide features the tourism signature stalk
of wheat and tag line "Have a Field Day" to highlight
the natural beauty of the area.
With a cover
focused on themes of the outdoors, recreational activities and
the "Grand Canyon of the East," Letchworth State Park,
the full-color guide provides information and resources highlighting
the individual towns and villages that make up Livingston County,
notable attractions, accommodation as well as hidden treasures.
For the first time, Hemlock Lake, recently designated along with
Canadice Lake as New York's newest State Park is featured on the
cover.

Also featured
is a Livingston County trivia question on each page to entice
the reader to learn more about the area. Answers are located in
the back of the guide.
Designed by Cindy Harris of Harris Studios, Inc., Fishers, N.Y.,
the guide highlights lush images by local photographer Bob Oswald
and incorporates local residents as models for the guide.
"We're
proud that every photograph in the guide depicts real life here,"
said Lisa Burns, Livingston County tourism director. "We
want to give visitors a true sense of what they will find when
they come to Livingston County. " Burns also encourages local
residents to pick up a copy of the guide and perhaps discover
something new in their own backyard. "As residents of Livingston
County, we're all ambassadors and can help provide our visitors
with information and suggestions that will make their experience
here even richer," she said.
Created in
part through an "I Love New York" matching funds grant
and by local advertising partners, the guide is distributed to
over 500 outlets on the Eastern Seaboard and Canada, at travel
and trade shows in the U.S. and Canada, in AAA offices and rest
stops along the New York State Thruway, as well as through the
tourism website, www.FingerLakesWest.com
and an active social media campaign. New to the guide this year
is "QR" coding, a black and white square symbol on the
guide that readers can take a photo of using a "smart phone"
taking them directly to the tourism website.
