Artists of the Genesee Valley Studio Tour moves to Spring

Country Inn & Suites of Mount Morris partners with GVCA

Mount Morris NY - Always willing to try something different, the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts is supporting its member artists by coordinating a spring studio tour for 2008. Scheduled for the weekend of June 7 and 8, 22 artists will open their studios in Livingston County from 10am to 5pm both days. This free, self-guided tour is open to the public. “It’s the perfect opportunity to see artists work in their own environment and talk with them about their art and process … all while watching the Genesee River Valley come to life with the warmer weather,” states Salome Farraro, Associate Director of GVCA. As a note, many artists offer their artwork for sale and most studios are open year round, so ask the artists about these details.

Country Inn & Suites, located at 130 North Main Street in Mount Morris, is the 2008 Corporate Sponsor of the GVCA studio tour. This wonderful establishment invites you to “be their guest” and is offering a discounted Studio Tour Package for the June 7/8 weekend: 10% off a guest’s entire stay and 10% off dinner at the Genesee River Hotel Restaurant. Simply call 585.658.4080 and ask for the Studio Tour Package. Country Inn & Suites is conveniently situated on Route 36 in the historic village of Mount Morris – just south of the Genesee River and the entrance to Letchworth State Park. It’s a short five minute drive from I-390, Exit 7.

GVCA members will receive the studio tour guide/map by mail. The guide/map is also available in the News section of our website, www.gvcaonline.org, at Livingston County libraries, or call 585.243.6785 to request your copy.

The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts is located at 4 Murray Hill Drive in Mount Morris. The organization is Livingston County’s recognized arts council and will open Livingston Arts Center later this year.
