Rochester area is recognized for its extensive, interconnected
network of off-road biking trails which provide numerous access
points and a ride or hike through woodlands, wetlands, rolling
farmlands, and historic villages.
The
following numbers are referenced on the
map below.
1.
Genesee Valley Greenway -
90-mile multi-use trail & historic & natural resource
corridor extends from the Erie Canalway Trail in Rochester through
Letchworth State Park to Hinsdale in Cattaraugus County. The Greenway
follows the route of the former Genesee Valley Canal (1840-1878)
& Pennsylvania Railroad, Rochester Branch (1882-1963). 52
miles are now open to the public; 34 of those open miles are located

2. Finger Lakes Trail Letchworth Branch - 25-mile trail
from Mt. Morris to Portageville. Hiking, biking for experienced

Finger Lakes Trail - 800-mile system across the state, trail
within many of the counties in the region.
4.
Erie Canalway Trail - Hiking & biking across New York
along the towpath of the historic Erie Canal. www.nycanal.com/recreation.
